Operation Manager

Job Purpose

  • To maintain, develop and continually improve all the company’s QSHE Management System in accordance with ISO 9001; ISO 14001, the requirements of Health & Safety Legislation and any other requirements
  • To ensure and arrange the provision of elementary Health & Safety training to all staff as required, including, but not limited to Risk Assessment, Manual Handling, Accident Investigation and Reporting, Hazard and Defect Reporting, Environmental Awareness and other relevant training needs as required.
  • To assist the management team in promoting the necessity of maintaining a safe working culture in all aspects of the business.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Write, review & maintain local HSE and Quality System procedures, ensuring they are all available on the SharePoint.
  • Acting as a focal point for the site to ensure that global quality & SHE procedures and protocols are made available to, understood and completed by the relevant departments.
  • Communicate information related to QHSE to all the employees and promotes HSE awareness through various communication channels i.e. inductions, training, discussions, emails, etc. in consultation with all relevant departments.
  • Locally lead and maintain ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
  • Locally lead and maintain ISO 14001:2015 accreditation.
  • Locally lead and maintain Halal accreditation.
  • Locally lead any new accreditation in line with the CPL strategy
  • Complete the annual internal audit program for Quality & SHE for CPL Dubai, conducting audits including: 
  1. Internal Quality System audits
  2. Hygiene audits in the laboratory and production areas 
  3. Safety auditing for fire, storage racking etc…
  • Complete SHE training for the site corrosives handling, standard operating procedures, fire procedures. Manage and arrange all trainings related to QSHE
  • Interpret, build upon and comply with company policies and the recognized set of international standards
  • Management of the annual program of SHE risk assessments and follow up
  • Co-ordinate internal and external Non-Conformance System. Liaise with the relevant departments to put in place corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Recording, investigating and reporting to relevant level of management in accordance with our legal responsibilities of safety & environmental incidents and following up actions to prevent recurrence. Suggest and advise changes to ensure continuous improvement on any additional effective OFIs to be added as part of continual improvement.
  • Controlling both hazardous & non-hazardous wastes and keeping accurate records
  • Ensure waste management procedures are always followed and all documentation required by law is received and all permits are current.
  • Ensure the workplace is free from hazards and excellent hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained and meet expectations.

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Read & Speak good English – Essential
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office is essential
  • Up to date knowledge of all EHS / Authorities QHSE requirements
  • NEBOSH, or relevant ISO certification (Auditing/training) would be an advantage
  • Understanding of QSHE Risk Management tools would be an advantage
  • A friendly / helpful attitude
  • High level of numeracy skills
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively with attention to detail, even when under pressure
  • Knowledge and experience within Quality Assurance or Control procedure within a manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage
  • Customer oriented
  • A highly organized and professional approach to managing a demanding workload.
  • A great team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
