Job Purpose

The Production Manager is responsible for leading all resources in the production area in order to fulfill all released productions orders to meet customer requirements whilst ensuring high standards of safety, quality and efficiency, proper stock control, lower lead times, establishing a culture of continues improvement and adherence to all company practices and policies. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

PRODUCTION

  • Plan, manage and control the fragrance manufacturing process as per quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Manage the raw materials and fragrances stock to comply with cycle counting and FIFO practices, ensure proper rotation to reduce slow moving provision.
  • Implement innovative solutions/CAPEX to boost efficiency and productivity of the area to achieve lowest possible lead-time.
  • Ensure the matching between production procedures and CPL global procedures.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives on the production department whilst training the production staff to achieve good maturity levels that reflect in the overall performance of KPI´s.
  • Manage proper supply of consumables required for production.
  • Link with QA, maintenance, EHS, buying, foreign trade, HR and IT departments to assure the best customer service and support the production department’s needs.
  • Maintain proper controls on goods in and dispatch processes to comply with Free Trade Zone requirements and perform a monthly reconciliation of both systems.

QHSE

  • Ensure a safe working environment with strict adherence to all safety protocols, and the timely response to accidents investigation and prevention of unsafe working practices and behaviors.
  • Comply with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 system, attend audits and work on NCR and CCR raised.
  • Provide quick investigation and action on CCR´s.

 PEOPLE

  • Train and develop the direct reports, establish objective and performance follow up to achieve a successful organization.
  • Supervise production team to guarantee full compliance with all company policies.
  • Attend the factory as per business requirements outside of normal working hours.

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Professional with bachelor’s degree on Chemical, Process, Industrial or similar engineering.
  • With post graduated studies on Manufacturing, Engineering, or industrial project.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial roles in manufacturing/production on chemical industries or FMCG companies.
  • Experience on continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
  • A highly organized, quick, and practical and professional approach to managing a demanding workload.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence decision-makers, communicate with internal teams and promote continuous improvement.
  • Experience and Knowledge on ERP systems such as AX/Dynamics 365, SAP, etc.
  • Experience on managing and developing people.
  • CAPEX implementation experience focus on continues process improvement, ideally on automation and digital processes.
  • Self- motivated with the ability to show initiative and able to work to deadlines
