Job Purpose

To sample, mix and pack a blend of aromatic oils and aroma chemicals into to various sizes of steel and plastic drums as per customer’s requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Moving tanks containing a blend of aromatic oils and aroma chemicals
  • Taking and forwarding samples of finished goods to QC per company procedure.
  • Using pumps to pump product from tank(s) into drum(s).
  • Accurately follow pack sheets to ensue correct drums and labels are used as per customer requirements.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with Mixing and Packing as per company procedures
  • Ensure all work areas are clean and tidy.
  • Highlight any problems encountered within packaging process.
  • Communicate any dangers in the workplace to the appropriate person.
  • Additional duties as directed by the Production Manager.

Health & Safety Requirements include:

  • Maintaining standards of hygiene, quality and product safety within the designated area in order to meet the customer service standards and maintain product integrity
  • Following agreed controls for safe working practices in relation to personnel, product, processes and/or raw materials
  • Identifying risks and taking the appropriate actions to ensure a safe working environment
  • Whilst handling chemicals (with relevant training provided) MUST wear PPE which include a minimum of safety glasses, safety boots or wellies and protective clothing to be worn within the production areas and any other PPE as recommended depending on the tasks
  • Identifying dangers within the workplace and notifying your Production Manager / Health& Safety Manager
  • Raising attention to any problems / situations / unsafe conditions that give rise to any H&S risk so they may be prevented
  • Always conforming to manual handling instructions
  • Reporting issues / repair requirements / operating faults with equipment, to Shift Manager
  • Ensure full training is completed in order to safely operate equipment / machinery / raw materials. DO NOT operate any machinery you have not been trained to use

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Read & Speak good English
  • Holder of a Fork Lift Truck driving license – advantages – Though training could be provided
  • Previous experience of mixing and packing liquids – Advantageous, but training would be provided
  • Able to work with hazardous materials and heavy drums
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively with attention to detail, even when under pressure
  • High level of numeracy skills
  • Good time management
  • Experience of working within an IT controlled manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
