Production Manager

Job Purpose

Operate production equipment to maximize efficiency, accurately managing raw‑material inventory, and performing autonomous maintenance. This includes early detection and reporting of failures, carrying out preventive tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, part replacements, and basic electromechanical work. The goal is to keep the machine in optimal condition, reduce unplanned downtime, ensure reliability and performance, and support continuous improvement of the production process.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the machines are utilized to their full capacity in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review daily the connected inventory for the machine in order to adjust quantities as needed versus the inventory in the system.
  • Process requests for raw material samples from the weighing area and deliver them properly within the agreed timeframes.
  • Report any accident or incident occurring during the production process in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide a constant workload to the machine for the manufacturing and weighing areas in order to maintain their productivity.
  • Ensure the custody and proper condition of the tools, spare parts, and consumables for the machines to guarantee their availability and timely use.
  • Verify and identify daily the required refills in order to perform them promptly in accordance with established procedures, ensuring the machines dose 100% of the required raw materials.
  • Evaluate and reduce the number of refills performed in order to make the process more efficient.
  • Ensure proper parameterization of critical weight variables and raw material capacities in the system, along with timely modification when applicable.
  • Periodically review and adjust the raw materials assigned to the machines according to established analysis variables in order to maintain the best usage ratio.
  • Prepare the reports for the process under their responsibility as defined by the production manager and/or process leaders.
  • Perform raw material changes in the valve system in accordance with established procedures.
  • Identify and report machine failures in order to manage their prompt resolution.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance on the equipment under their responsibility, including systematic cleaning, detection of contamination sources, daily sensory inspections, lubrication according to established frequencies, corrections to keep the machines and their respective parts in optimal condition, and any other requirements in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations when required.
  • Standardize the machine's operating conditions (critical parameters, positions, and adjustments) and keep them permanently updated and respected to ensure consistency, reliability, and maximum performance.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and elimination of root causes of recurring failures.

Skills and Attributes Required

Studies

  • Technical degree or Technologist with a focus on mechanics, electrical, electromechanical, or related fields.

Training

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, email, and general office tools.

  • Minimum 3 years as an autonomous machine operator with proven experience in maintenance and electromechanical interventions on industrial machinery.
