Job Purpose
Ensure the proper maintenance of finished product formulations, taking into account regulatory requirements, raw material availability, customer needs, and business requirements, in order to maintain consistency in product and process quality.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain oversight of the formulation lifecycle, adding and/or removing raw materials agreed upon for the Colombia palette.
- Optimize the formulations scheduled for production and assess raw material shortages to replace them with available inventory.
- Coordinate stock meetings with production, sales, and relevant managers to review actions aimed at reducing financial impact and preventing recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with local and global regulations by responding to regulatory requests and providing customer training when necessary.
- Manage formula modifications required due to non-weighable quantities and production efficiency.
- Oversee the removal of “Phase Out” and discontinued raw materials from formulas and inventory.
- Control and act on formulation changes resulting from customer requirements, discontinued raw materials, or changes in regulatory status.
- Implement control and monitoring measures together with production, sales, and relevant managers to reduce slow-moving and aged inventory.
- Provide support for quality-related technical issues associated with formulation when needed.
- Maintain contact with ANDI to stay updated on new regulations affecting the chemical and fragrance industry.
- Monitor formulations to systematically improve their margins.
- Ensure legal compliance by reporting the annual chemical substances inventory.
- Lead the renewal process for controlled substance permits with the corresponding authorities and the controlled substances committee to ensure control actions are carried out.
- Work closely with the global FM and regulatory teams to implement business strategies locally.
Skills and Attributes Required
Education
• Professional degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields
Training
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• English proficiency (Spoken & Written)
Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles (FM, Regulatory, QC) within CPL or other fragrance houses
Skills
