Job Purpose

This position has full P&L responsibility for China commercial sales division including sales, marketing, evaluation, product development and customer services. With a current headcount of 30 + staff across sales, evaluations, perfumers and product development (labs) this is a critical part of the FE regional leadership team. Accountable and responsible for developing the sales and business development capabilty of CPL to achieve revenue growth and enhance market leadership.

Tasks and Responsibilities

P&L and Budget accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Full P&L and budget responsibilities
  • Manage department heads of sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Administration, evaluation, and product development team in China
  • Drive pricing strategy, margin optimization, and commercial discipline to ensure sustainable profitability.
  • Ensure strong forecasting accuracy and pipeline management discipline.
  • Work with HK / China manufacturing to deliver outstanding services to customers
  • Maintain group authorisation levels and follow CPL policies
  • Ensure health and safety on site and develop CPL environmental initiatives

 

Build a competitive market driven and commercially savvy organisation

  • Work with the relevant team to establish competitive sales and business development capabilities
  • Identify and articulate CPL technology strength and capability
  • Identify potential new customers / KA and create CPL technology awareness networks to generate new business interests
  • Help local team navigate the business development pathway to ensure they effectively approach and capture the business opportunities
  • Develop a strategy to capture and maintain a competitive intelligence database, ensuring accuracy of information
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy that builds a community of customers and links this community with potential new business opportunities

 

Engage targeted existing and new business customers and KA

  • Establish a direct relationship with customers to help them achieve their objectives and build long-term relationship
  • Increase the connectivity of customers / KA with CPL technologies to support their desired outcomes
  • Positioning and bundling products range to provide value add initiatives to generate revenue
  • Utilise data to identify target opportunities and develop effective business initiatives and events to generate growth
  • Share market intelligence insights and data to ensure appropriate action is taken to position CPL as a choice of consideration
  • Develop targeted and scalable communications to promote CPL technology to customers

 

Leadership and collaboration  

  • Provide leadership to the overall team and ensure necessary collaboration and communication between the sales team and all support functions
  • Inspire relevant team and resources to collaborate and work transparently
  • Ensure and encourage best practice and success stories are shared across the organisation
  • Think strategically, analytically and solve problems through investigation and research and shows judgment in decision making
  • Develop and manage a high performing team

 

Future Potential Market Development Opportunities

  • Identify and develop new opportunities for establishment in new markets.
  • Develop business plans, establish and manage appropriate infrastructure to support the local business models.
  • Evaluate the performance and opportunity presented by both establish and new markets determining and recommending the best return on investment.
  • Partner with the team to understand the constraints on growth and develop plans to overcome these 
  • Develop initiatives supported by business case in local country

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Relevant business degrees are essential.  MBA preferably
  • 10+ years relevant industry experience in a B2B technology environment
  • Strong analytical and business development experience preferable
  • Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing sales and business development strategic plans and programs that deliver business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders in different countries and cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement strategy
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
