Job Purpose
The position will have responsibility for developing and implementing global operations strategy. This role will manage and guide the local Operations Managers to implement operational strategic initiatives and projects, process and efficiency improvements and to ensure all sites to meet CPL global manufacturing standards and operate in a safe environment.
• Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our strategic initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
• Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
• Devise strategies to ensure growth of process automation across divisions by identifying and implementing process improvements and automation that will maximize output and minimize costs
• Uphold organization policies and standards, ensuring local legal regulations are followed
• Work closely with human resources to lead team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Global Operations Strategy
➢ Responsible for developing and implementing global operations strategy
➢ Accountable for evaluating and implementing good operational practice
➢ Drive global operational standardisation and optimisation
➢ Explore and prepare Industry 4.0 strategies and focus on digitization, customer demand and customer connectivity
➢ Develop and deploy manufacturing standards to drive our factories to best in class performance across key metrics and dimensions of safety, quality, reliability, service, productivity, lead times and overall competitiveness
• Global Production
➢ Responsible for developing and implementing global production strategy
➢ Drive rapid and consistent production process improvements to ensure that we deliver on time in full, to quality standards, to the customers’ expectations, and with the most effective use of our resources.
➢ Implement manufacturing best practice and deliver significant manufacturing margin, health and safety, and housekeeping improvement
➢ Create an environment in the factories that motivates employees ensuring that they are fully aware of what is expected of them, and recognizes their success
➢ Drive global production standardization and optimisation
• Project Management
➢ Responsible for initiating and managing global production projects
➢ Focus on robust process, continuous improvement and cost efficiency
➢ Monitor and optimise productivity
➢ Responsible for global manufacturing site selection and evaluation
• Global Operations Management
➢ Oversee day to day operations across CPL Manufacturing Divisions
➢ Review, evaluate and standardize shipping service agreements
➢ Build the Logistics function capability strategically across the globe, utilizing systems and process
➢ Drive efficiency and productivity to ensure excellence in delivery and meeting customers’ expectations
➢ Responsible for support contract management with Fricke, ADS, rfsmart and improve service levels
➢ Design and implement supply chain metrics and dashboard
• Health, Safety, Quality, Environment and Compliance
➢ Ensure all sites are educated and trained to follow all HSQE requirements
➢ Comply with all relevant legislations and building regulations / permit to ensure appropriate working conditions for all sites
➢ Monitoring all incidents, investigate and implement necessary corrective actions
➢ Oversees Quality Assurance, Environmental & Safety management systems
➢ Actively engaged and involved in Global Corporate Responsibility Audit team
• Leadership and Team Management
➢ Provide guidance to local GMs on sites, equipment, buildings and permits
➢ Work with global purchasing and local GMs to maintain appropriate stocks level and its utilization at global level
➢ Managing global recharging policy and gain agreement with local GMs
➢ Ensure company policies are enforced consistently
➢ Lead and instill a culture of continuous improvement and maximizing efficiencies while not compromising on quality across the manufacturing divisions
➢ Develop Supply Chain people capabilities via professional education & development, mentoring
Skills and Attributes Required
• Experience of managing a fast paced manufacturing environment, either Food/Chemical or Fragrance industry.
• Understand the big picture and deliver the results through a dynamic team
• Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
• Experience using a modern ERP system, with experience in MS Dynamics 365 highly favorable.
• Ability to prove success in effectively managing a successful and productive facility.
• Potential for some travel to other divisions
