Job Purpose

The Stock Control Operative is responsible for managing stock accuracy, overseeing goods-in and goods-out processes, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. This role will take full ownership of all current stock control tasks, ensuring continuity and maintaining high operational standards.This role is critical to ensuring stock accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuity of service. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain standards already set and identify opportunities for improvement.

Tasks and Responsibilities

This is temporary role for 12-months

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for all stock control activities.
  • Maintain accurate stock records across all systems and physical locations.
  • Carry out regular stock counts and cycle counts, investigating and reporting discrepancies.
  • Manage goods-in processes including receiving, checking, and logging deliveries.
  • Coordinate goods-out activities including picking, packing, and dispatching stock.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move stock within the facility.
  • Ensure all materials are stored correctly and safely in designated areas.
  • Support global production and operational teams by ensuring timely availability of consumables and packaging.
  • Monitor stock levels and flag low stock or overstock issues.
  • Maintain clean, organised, and compliant warehouse and storage areas.
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Work closely with purchasing and operations to support stock planning and control.

Skills and Attributes Required

  • Valid forklift licence (essential).
  • Previous experience in stock control or warehouse operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Basic IT skills for stock management systems (Excel would be advantageous; full training will be provided).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
